Artemide luminaires are as expressive and individual as the people who created them. Our strength lies in the diversity of our partnerships, and our greatest creative power emerges through mutual exchange. We collaborate internationally with outstanding designers and architects, setting no limits to our creativity – only one shared goal: light that serves the well-being of people.
Ernesto Gismondi / Nur
As the founder of Artemide, Ernesto Gismondi not only shaped the company but also created distinctive designs himself. With Nur, he designed a luminaire of impressive clarity: a reduced form that produces powerful, direct light as well as soft, indirect illumination.
It embodies Gismondi’s belief that innovation does not contradict simplicity but rather draws its strength from it. Nur is an expression of his ability to unite technical precision with design essence – an archetype that reflects the spirit of Artemide.
Carlotta de Bevilacqua / Funivia
As designer, entrepreneur and president of Artemide, Carlotta de Bevilacqua shapes the brand in a unique way. She created luminaires such as Somnĭum, Funivia, Vector, Helgoland, Coherence, and Antarktikós.
Her works stand for visionary technologies while embodying a sense of human connection. They unite research and responsibility — always with the goal of shaping light as a source of well-being and sustainability.
Michele De Lucchi / Tolomeo
For decades, Tolomeo by Michele De Lucchi has shaped the face of Artemide. With Tolomeo, De Lucchi created one of the world’s most renowned desk lamps – honored with the Compasso d’Oro and still today a symbol of flexibility and elegance.
Series such as Castore and Logico also reflect his sense of lightness, precision, and the human dimension. His designs have become icons, embodying Artemide’s philosophy: light as a design element that enriches people’s lives.
Richard Sapper / Tizio
The designer shared a close partnership with Artemide. Together, they made design history with the Tizio of 1972: a luminaire that set new standards with its innovative counterweight system and invisible cable management.
In the collaboration with Artemide, Sapper’s technical precision and design clarity found the space to become an icon.
BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group / Alphabet of Light
Technology, sustainability, and visionary design define the collaboration between the internationally renowned architecture firm and Artemide. With designs such as Alphabet of Light, La Linea, Stellar Nebula, Vine Light, and Gople, BIG shapes a new generation of luminaires that connect architecture and nature.
Their work is both experimental and poetic — translating complex ideas into clear forms and reflecting Artemide’s commitment to shaping light as a technology for the future.
Herzog & de Meuron / Unterlinden
The collaboration of Herzog & de Meuron with Artemide resulted in luminaires such as Unterlinden, Pipe, and Dreispitz, which combine the highest technical precision with a surprising, often sculptural formal language.
The architects are renowned for their material research and meticulous attention to detail, qualities that are also evident in their lighting designs for Artemide. Their work demonstrates how architecture, design, and light can seamlessly intertwine.
